Like the homepage says (until I change it and forget to update this section), there's not much of a theme going on here. Most of my online puttering around is fandom-related, so that's probably going to be a big chunk of the content. But it's also not, like, a whole site devoted to one TV show I like, because that's more effort than I'm willing to put forth most of the time. Everything's jumbled together. I dabble.

As for why the site's here, I find myself needing a static hub where I can stash all my pointless bullshit where I won't have to worry about losing it all in a purge. And where I don't feel like I'm laboring under the unfeeling gaze of the panopticon.

I had a whole "old nerd yells at cloud" rant typed up, but it wasn't anything that hasn't been said before. I've been kicking around since Geocities, and every platform I've been on from LiveJournal to Tumblr and beyond winds up pulling the rug out from under me, and I'm tired of having that happen. Also tired of "number go up" and monetization and harrassment and just how generally miserable it all is.

Anyway, while I'll probably keep using Tumblr and, to a much lesser extent, Twitter, those places need to not be my homes anymore. For the time being, my base of operations will be here, and at the very least socmed will be somewhere I merely visit. Honestly, I'm feeling better already. ♪(´▽｀)
